A gloss can make hair photograph beautifully for an afternoon. It can smooth the cuticle, sharpen the shape, and catch every bit of studio light. We love that finish. We also know it is only one part of the picture.
When we talk about hair health, we pay attention to how a strand feels after the product is gone. Does it bend without snapping? Does the texture return after washing? Are the ends still able to hold their shape? Those answers are quieter than shine, but they tell us far more.
